Clematis (Puawhananga) Flower.  For use in a wall art composition or alone,  the Clematis is the best known flower in the New Zealand bush, with a profusion of starry, delightfully fragrant white flowers in early Spring followed by fluffy silvery seed heads in Autumn. The Sacred Flower - in Maori folk lore, it was regarded as one of the first born children of the two stars, Rehua and Puanga, its first blossoms indicating the coming of summer.
